I'm not sure if it will the google wifi app will allow you to create a second wifi network entirely but the app does give you the option to set up a guest wifi with a name and password of your choice. As well as broadcasting goes, it does give a pretty strong signal. I have one of the mesh devices connected to my router upstairs and two additional mesh devices in my basement where most of my devices that need internet are located and I experience no lag at all.

Plus the coverage on a single router can cover up to 1500 square feet and works great when it’s in the next room from it as well.
