• COX is your internet provider, while your WiFI is to broadcast your internet signal locally to your house. So you can use Google WiFi to broadcast in and around your house. It's a very good WiFi provider. the best I have seen.

• Yes, of course, google mesh is your router & cox is your modem. Totally different. Unless your modem is a combo wifi router itself which you can turn off or on.
