• No, you need to have a cable modem and pay for internet service. The google device connects to your modem giving you wifi.

• Your router would have to except coax cable , from the router you connect the closest google WiFi hub using an Ethernet connection. If you have more then one google WiFi it will wirelessly connect to the other hubs.
