The camara itself wont float, but you can attach the floaty and because of the yellow or orage color of the floaty it is easy to spot in the water

No you would have to buy an accessory that floats that will hold the gopro.

There is an floatation accessory that can be purchased to adhere to the case in order for the camera to float.
