How good of a picture are you looking for? They all shoot regular HD (1080) but the silver does 2K and 4K at lower frame rates while the Black series does full 4K. Just remember to get a large memory card at least a 64GB.

You may be able to squeeze more life out of it if you turn off the touch screen, the LED's, and the Wi-Fi. I don't think it lasted more that 1.5-2 hours per charge when I used it. I haven't tried other action cameras so I am not able to give a good recommendation if there are better ones out there.

Use some inventive Velcro or duck tape to mount securely on your vehicle and you can record till the cows come home. You need the camera case to allow for a USB connect or modify an existing one. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I prefer the GoPro 4 Silv, as it has a built in screen to see what you are shooting. The camera has the option to use Super, wide, Med and Narrow views. So by seeing what the camera sees hikes set up. My screen is set to shut off after 3 minutes to conserve power. Even at that the longest record time is 2 to 3 hours. I bought spare batteries which are very easy to change. So I plan my events to leave a time slot to change the battery needed to not. Then I never loose video. There are several mounts you can get, just make sure you get a cable to tie to go from the camera body to the frame or handle bars of your machine. Then in the case the mount breaks, you do not loose the GoPro. I do this for my motorcycle.One last note, shoot in either 1080 or 720 mode, the quality of 720 is better than one thinks and gives you a faster FPS for slow motion action. Good Luck - Have fun!
