I think the main difference of the two is that the black is made for the 4k tv's that are out now and the silver isn't. So it will play in 4k and the silver will just be 1080.

The Silver has the built in BacPac though that I found most appealing. The quality of the video of both of these models is much more than most need, myself included. Exceptional!
