“Would this be a good option to video my horse riding lessons? I am looking to record myself so I can review the tapes for posture, leg position etc so I need to set it on a tripod or ledge to capture this. Or should I go with a conventional camcorder?”

If you haven’t already got your answer, this would work but if you’re just using it in a stationary position, the 5 Black would be more than sufficient. If you are going to use it in the future to record your rides with in on your person, then the 6 is the way to go with the electronic Stabilization.
