1st action camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mainly to use while riding my motorcycle. I read where others complained of vibration in the video, however I've found the built-in stabilization works amazingly well on my ninja 1000. Even when I see the camera shaking as i go down the road, the video turns out excellent. While riding I get about 45 minutes to 1 hour of recording time. However, that's with Wi-Fi bluetooth and gps turned off. With all those functions on i get 20-30 minutes tops. Extra battery and charger is a must. I use 1080 / 60fpm (default setting) and the video quality is amazing to me. Shooting video in poor light or outside at night is not something I'd recommend, video gets grainy quickly. But outside during the day this camera has no equal for quality video. I've taken lots of video with my phone over the years but it doesn't come close to what this camera is capable of. You can buy cameras much cheaper than this one but I don't know if they give the same beautiful results either. Where price hurts is buying the accessories for it. Once you start to experiment with everything this camera can do, you're gonna want/need the accessories. Get a large memory card (I got a 128 GB) because even at 1080 this thing eats through memory like crazy. You're gonna need a big hard drive on whatever device you download your video onto also. Overall, this camera is great. Just takes a little practice to get used to then it's simple to use. Great video quality. Small enough to carry in a pocket. Does reasonably well on batteries for it's size/ability. I can't wait to take it on my vacation this summer.

Frustrating at times, but awesome shots = worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start with the negatives because I think those things need to be addressed. Aside from these negatives, I love everything about having this GoPro Hero 6. Cons - Freezes up often and needs a hard reset (pull out battery and put back in). I dont know why this occurs even after the most recent firmware update. Its quite disappointing. I wouldnt say it freezes EVERY time, but there was time I was snorkeling and it froze up on me, I was filming in a lake and it froze, and I was at a pool and it froze. Being in the water and having it freeze is the most annoying because you can't do anything about it until you go all the way back to your spot to dry off and reset it. When its working and not freezing, its great! But it is very frustrating when it freezes. - Battery life isnt great. Luckily when I bought this through bestbuy, the deal was it came with a free spare battery which I HIGHLY recommend you get if you dont have one already. I film at 2k and 60fps, and after a lot of start and stop recording, and pictures in between, you can hit 50% battery life in under 3 hours. Its not terrible, but having a spare is a must. - Often glitchy interface. The interface is relatively easy to use and figure out, but it will sometimes glitch out and be stuttery and laggy. In todays age of smartphones, it seems a little unacceptable to have an UI be this laggy and slow. The touchscreen is very responsive and nice, but the software running under it isnt as fast as it should be. - Lastly for the cons, (this is only situationaly) is if youre upgrading from anything under the GoPro hero 5, then youre going to need all new cases and some new accessories because the build is changed. If you have the hero 5 and are upgrading, you dont have to worry. But if you have the 4, and are upgrading, some of your accessories may not be compatible with this new formfactor. Now onto the good stuff PROS + There is no better action camera on the market. Some people might tell you the Yi 4K+ or the Sony MX are on equal ground or even above GoPro. And while they may be cheaper alternatives, you certainly get what you pay for. With ProTune, you get exactly the look you want in your pictures and videos. Everyone has different preferences, and you can edit all the aspects of your video from color balance and iso, to white balance and shutter speed. The shots you can get (and edit) with GoPro are by far and away better than anything the Yi can produce. Sony is catching up, but right now, GoPro is still your best bet if youre trying to get the best action shots. And I assume if youre looking at buying the hero6, youre not just the average joe looking to film a dog walk in the park. If you do water sports like me, or like going on adventures and capturing those adventures, this is the camera for you. ++++++ VIDEO STABILIZATION. A quick youtube video search will tell you everything there is to know about the video stabilization on the hero6. This feature in itself makes it worth the upgrade from the 5 to the 6. I wont even talk about it that much more. Just go look at comparisons on youtube and youll understand. This is the BEST feature about this camera. + Waterproof without casing. While I did buy the underwater supersuit ($50) because of the way I use my gopro, most people will be able to get away with not using the supersuit, because the gopro itself is waterproof up to 10 meters. That means its perfect for at the pool, in the snow, or anything where there might be moisture or rain. Again, if youre like me and do a lot of snorkeling and water stuff, I do recommend the supersuit. But its nice that the gopro is waterproof by itself. BOTTOM LINE: This is a 5 star product, that is boggled down -2 stars because of poor software optimization. Do I recommend this? Yes. But I definitely will be the first to point out the frustrating flaws this camera often has. While the freezing is unacceptable for this price point and this day in tech age, it is not a completely deal breaking thing for me. It may be one for you. I've learned to just slow down while going through settings and modes. The faster I go, the more likely I'll seize up the software and cause a freeze. Just slow down choosing your modes and youll be fine. The shots I've gotten with this have been fantastic. If you can deal with a little frustration every now and then, you're getting the best in the business.

Famous action camera, but it does have some issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I watch a lot of un-boxing hero 6. So when the price drop $50. I bought it. After few weeks of use, I find some issues of hero 6. 1. The battery only can last less than 30 mins. 2. After 10 mins use, hero 6 became really hot. 3. The voice control is sensitive when you do not want to use it. and stupid when you want to use it. 4. Until know I think the front screen is affected by the overheat, the color is not pure, i can clear see the other color occurred. However, overall, It is fair product.

After researching GoPro for years, I finally...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.decided to fork out 499 and I have to admit, i'm obsessed with it. By no means am I a camera person, whereas I understand the jargon associated with these things. Whether it's 4K, 1089P, whatever... the mini LCD screen helps show what each setting can do, and many of them have a caption that tells you exactly what toggling this setting will do. If you want to catch life's moments, and not be that guy in the stands, or on the sidelines making everyone feel awkward... you need this camera.

Awesome Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you always consider getting the best gadgets, buy the Hero6. It is 4K at 60FPS, good on the budget and all I can say is that this is an awesome camera, but do not mind me, go see for yourself.

Q: QuestionCan i trade my gopro hero 5 black?
Asked by Arms11.
- A:Answer Put it on ebay or Craigslist quickly before GoPro starts to discount the Hero 5 (they already have). I just got the Hero 6 and if you don't need 4k 60 just stick with the Hero 5 and save your money. I found that the 4k60 uses so much memory that it is somewhat limiting to use.

Q: QuestionGropro studio will not support the hero6 in 2.7k @120 or 4.7K @ 60 bought a very expenisve video program and it does not support it either, Is there a video program out the that does support video editing. I contact Gropro and they are very aware
Asked by Nitro.
- A:Answer This is more like your PC or Mac doesn't support it. For Mac, you need High Sierra OS installed. For Windows, certain apps are only supporting H.265/HEVC codec. I use LumaFusion on my iPad Pro to edit 4K/60 from Hero6, works great!
