It does not come with any type of cover. It says it is waterproof to 33 feet, however I don't use mine under water so you should look into that further. Also check out the Hero 9, I would have got that over the 8 because they are about the same price.

It's waterproof as it is down to 33 feet, so there's nothing else you'll need to do with it to take it in the water - though we would recommend possibly getting a mount like the GoPro Handler to make the GoPro easier to use and to keep the GoPro from sinking if you accidentally drop it.
