• yes, i use it in my hero 5 session. The adapter is not crazy big but it has a right angle connector so you can let it hang up or down

• Yes, just pop open the door and it slides right in. Only works for hero 5, and hero 5 session. The regular session 4 or "the session"does not allow a mic adapter of any kind. Works great with any lapel mic though. . I use this on my motorcycle to vlog
