• Yes just need to make sure camera firmware is 2.7

• Yes, I can confirm you must update your firmware. I purchased 3 of these batteries and charger. I fully charged the batteries but when installed in the GoPro, it would not recognize them or turn on at all. After checking here, I went to the GoPro site, downladered the Q uick software and then updated the firmware to 2.7. That totally was the answer and now my batteries work in my "0ld" GoPro 5!
