“I'm new to using GoPro, and I just got my first with the Hero 7 Silver. I know it says it's waterproof, but I don't want to risk anything. Can I use it underwater straight out of the package? Or do I need to buy a casing for it?”

Yes, the HERO7 Silver is ready to go underwater down to as deep as 33 feet straight out of the package. Just make sure that the door is closed securely and stays closed while you're around the water. FYI that the Silver is not compatible with the Super Suit Dive Housing, but unless you're planning to go deeper than 33 feet with the GoPro, you won't need it anyway. Have fun with your GoPro!
