“If i was in the middle of nowhere, with no wifi signal, would this remote become useless? Can I use my DSLR remote (see attached) with a Hero4 Silver instead? If so, what kind of adaptor would I need?”

• The GoPro itself sends the wifi signal. You don't have to be near wifi. The smart remote will work anywhere within range of camera.

• The Wi-Fi signals transmitted from the GoPro remote and GoPro camera should always be able to read one another regardless of location.
