how does it charge? null

The Shift S1 comes with a 42VDC adapter/charger that plugs into a barrel port on top of the battery. This port has a rubber flap to cover it when not in use. Battery can be charged by itself or while it is installed in the bike (as shown in my picture below), although it is a little easier to connect the charger if the battery lock is disengaged. Charger is a switching power supply with LED to indicate status: red=battery charging, green=fully charged.

Little hole on top of battery. I charge mine out of the bike ... 5 hrs

Easily plugs into wall charger with a long cord while on or off the bike.
