Seen multiple YouTubers saying this game is near impossible to play with a controller and that you need the steering wheel, is there any validity to that statement ? null

None what so ever. I have no problem with the controller. I even used the controller in vr if that means anything. What is true is that the GT7 definitely looks better in VR and the steering wheel would be worth getting if you're a racing enthusiast. I've been having a blast with the game on the controller!!

No. I have completed over 90 percent of the game and compete online with the dual sense controller. It is true that a wheel and pedals give you more control and can get better lap-times than a person using a controller.

On my side to play with a controller on this game it will be very hard.  I got the Logitech wheel, and believe me it's amazing.

You can definitely play with the controller. 
Vut if you want the immersion factor. Definitely get a steering wheel and pedals. Also VR2 for the whole package!

Never played it with a steering wheel. The controller works just fine. That being said, it would be fun to play with the steering wheel. I just can’t bring myself to pay $300 for the steering wheel.
