It has a slot where you can input an SD card to record video, not included though.

You get a text notification that a clip has been recorded and can watch it then or later. You can save any video permanently, or delete them. The motion and sound detectors have worked great for me, it catches my dog barking out the window, the cat walking in and out of the room, and even the dog licking her paws. You can also watch live, but you can only take photos live, not turn on and off the recording. If I leave it on all day, there are usually 10-30 clips to check. The free features are: set to "armed" manually or when your phone leaves the area when armed, you get notifications each time a new video (10 seconds, no sound) is recorded watch the clips as soon as you get the notice, while away or review them all at the end of the day watch the camera live view, take pictures, listen and speak through the mic live save clips and photos taken use a mini SD to store recordings I am trying to keep track of my dog's seizure-like events and this monitor has allowed me to determine that her events are rare. We were worried she might have been having them mid day more and more frequently. The video quality is high enough and motion sensing sensitive enough to tell that she hasn't had any episodes while I have been at work during the month I've had the camera. It doesn't always capture a high frame rate, but it captures enough to tell what caused the alert.
