• Thank you for your question. To keep steam vents clear of any buildup, follow these instructions each time you iron using steam. Fill water reservoir to max. Plug unit in. Turn Temperature Control Dial to Cotton-Linen setting and let iron heat for 2 minutes. Turn Temperature Control Dial to off position. Unplug from outlet. Hold iron over sink. Press and hold the Self-Clean Button until tank is empty.

• I guess you would have to drain out the water from the iron when you’re finish.
