A:AnswerNot sure it's necessary....I do use filters because I use an expresso grind. It stops most of the grinds from getting in the final brew. The filters are Aerobie Aeropress replacement filters sold by Barista Press on Amazon. If you're using a regular grind I would say not to bother with the filters.

The model has a measuring cup you scoop the ground coffee into with a mesh bottom that filters the coffee as it is brewing (if that is what "cup" you are referring to then yes, 1 scoop is included. Another older model included 2 scoop cups but not this newer model).
A:Answeryes it automatically shuts off when cup is full. I measure 14 oz. water for cup of coffee.
If you forget to put water in ..it will also shut off.
