• Combines dry ingredients well, and does a good job of cutting in your fat (butter or shortening). Put the result in a bowl before mixing in your liquids, however. It's a food CUTTER, not a mixer.

• It can but I'd recommend using a stand mixer if you have one.

• This will easily mix the ingredients prior to adding the flour but you need to stop there. It should not be used to mix or knead any dough.

• Yes it absolutely can. At first I thought it was going to be a disaster when I read some of the recipes in the manual but when I tried it, it came out marvelous.
