A:AnswerHello LICORNE – It’s possible that your hard drive has gone bad, but a number of different things can cause the behavior you describe. The only wat to know for sure if the drive is bad is to run a diagnostic, which is a service we offer. If you’d like to try that, please go to www.geeksquad.com/schedule to set up a reservation to visit us.
A:AnswerHello Chris – It looks like we should be able to do that install for you. You’d be looking at $39.99 plus tax for the labor on the install, plus the cost of the part you pick out. Please head over to www.geeksquad.com/schedule to set up a reservation to visit your local Geek Squad.
A:Answer$20 for replacement laptop keyboard, $40 to install. Matt was helping get Office 365 installed on new laptop (had to get new installation code). Before we were finished installing Office 365, another Geek Squad guy already had the new keyboard installed in my old laptop (Impressive!). I don't know if I could have watched, since I was busy with Matt and Office 365.
A:AnswerHi Sasha714 – A motherboard install would need to go out to the service center, and that means turn time could vary depending on part availability. We may not be able to get parts for a MSI computer, so I’d suggest calling us at 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778) to set up a reservation to visit your local Best Buy for a free consultation. The Agents there will review the computer and see if it is something we can work on.
A:AnswerFirst you have to buy a new hard drive, then pay for the operating system that cost $100.00. the total cost for me was around 200.00 because is installation and other charges.
A:AnswerHi ABCD – If the screen itself is cracked, the entire LCD panel would need to be replaced. Costs on that could vary depending on the model of your computer. Please head over to www.geeksquad.com/schedule to set up a reservation to bring your computer in to your local Geek Squad Precinct. They can take a look, and send it out to the service center for an estimate if needed.
A:AnswerHi Ken – That’s not something we’d be able to do in our stores, but we may be able to do it if we send it out to our service center, depending on the model. Please head on over to www.geeksquad.com/schedule to set up a reservation to visit one of our stores for a free consultation.
A:AnswerIn order to provide you with a much more accurate cost and time frame, could you please verify with me that you are looking to have the WiFi antenna reconnected to an existing WiFi card on your desktop? If not, please feel free to explain in a bit more detail what you're looking to do and we'll go from there.
A:AnswerWe do offer at-home services of this nature, at an additional fee. However, visiting your local Geek Squad may be a better bet in getting this fixed as promptly as possible. As a side note, the stores may not carry the cooler you need or are looking for but they can point you in the right direction to obtaining one and subsequently having it installed in-store.
A:AnswerHi, Enenra. That sounds like a repair that would need to be sent out to our repair facility. You're welcome to schedule a drop off appointment at one of our stores, by visiting www.geeksquad.com/schedule. Our Agents will be happy to take a look and recommend the best course of action. Thanks for reaching out!
A:AnswerIn my experience, it really depends on the age of your hard drive. They said they couldn’t transfer data from my computer, which was running Windows XP but had just stopped booting recently. I ended up transferring the data myself, after they essentially told me it couldn’t be retrieved.
A:AnswerGenerally speaking, when a computer is running slow it means things have gotten a little messy within the hard drive or apps are loading and bogging the system down. You are welcome to visit your local Geek Squad and speak to one of our agents as they can look into the issue during your appointment and give you a variety of different options on rectifying them. This is free of charge, but any further diagnosis and repair may be provided at an additional cost.
A:AnswerHi Rocker622 – Congrats on your PC upgrade! We’d love for you to make a reservation to visit us before coming in to make sure we have some time to work with you on this. Please head over to www.geeksquad.com/schedule to set that up. Once you arrive for the appointment we’ll review your computer, make sure you have all the parts needed, and go over pricing and the length of time the service will take.
A:AnswerHello Christina – We do offer a data transfer service, though it would be an additional charge on top of the cost of the new laptop. The price can vary depending on the package of products and services you purchase. We can’t guarantee we’ll be able to get any data off of your old drive without giving it a try first, but if we can’t perform the transfer, we’ll refund you for the service.
A:AnswerIt is likely that the part would not be available on hand, but we might be able to order it through our Service Center. I would recommend reserving a time to drop it off at your local Geek Squad Precinct in store, here: https://bit.ly/2GS0rtF.
A:AnswerHi TeePee,
Thanks for asking! At this time, a stand-alone hardware installation for a hard drive (would not include formatting or installing an operating system) is $39.99. You can reserve a time to drop your computer off at your local store, here: https://goo.gl/zxBXqe.
A:AnswerSure can they replaced my heat sync and the fan no problem and pretty cheap to boot. Power supply much easier to replace trust me they do great work.
