The H9G is extremely bright! The manufacturer claims 1000 nits, which is very believable based on using this TV. I have been extremely pleased (and was actually pleasantly surprised) how good the screen looks even when there is a lot of ambient light in the room. The screen remains bright and the colors remain vivid, and there is far less reflection on the panel than would be expected. You might want to see how it looks in the store by having the salesperson switch the TV out of "Store Mode" to normal, "Home Mode". That might give you some idea of whether it will suit the bright room where you want to place a new TV.
