“We've had ours for about a year and a half now and it regularly shuts down with "your google home is not set up yet" so, for the zillionth time I go through that process. For a Christmas gift gadget, what a hassle! Did we get a lemon? Tomorrows trash day”

We had this issue with one of our minis. Do a factory reset, then set it up again. If you still have issues, contact google.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd say you got a lemon. I have multiple google speakers and have had no issues with any of them other than the microphone not always picking up the 'wake up' command when there are too many conversations going on nearby.
