Only if you want them to . . . They can use it for a radio, alarm clock, help with their homework ? ? ? Absolutely . . . we have one in bedroom, office & family room/kitchen . . .works great.

You can also create home groups to broadcast music through to all units, and the broadcast a message feature is great as well - I use it to tell my kiddo to come down for dinner, etc.
