• Hello, No phone or device is actually needed when using the google home. However it helps with set up! After set up your phone doesn't need to be on.

• You need it for initial setup and to add new services. Otter than that you do not need a phone

• No, an Android device is not required to use Google Home. The only time you will need your Android (or even iPhone) is when you need to setup your Google Home.
