• Unit will response from several feet away. It even answers the TV Ad about the Google Home. It responds to some voices better than others

• You have to be close enough for it to hear your voice clearly. You do not need to see it at all. I am able to be down the hall and it is able to hear me. If you have music on or tv it will be harder to hear your voice.

• You do not need to see it when i first bought it i hid it behind my couch to mess with my son. It really does not look bad out in the open, I can be in the other room (15 ft away) on the other side of the wall and it works as long as the TV is not up too loud.
