I have linked it through my wifi so I can turn my heat and air on and off, up or down. It plays my play list and links to my in home speakers. I use it for an alarm as well and to tell me the time.

You can pod casts and music. You can ask it for directions, how long it take to get to work, what the news headlines are for the day, what is the weather, and almost anything you would type into Google on your laptop, or ask Google on your phone, you can verbally ask Google Home and get an answer. You can tell it to put Bailey's Irish Cream on your shopping list and there it is - right on your phone. You can tell it to set a timer for a specific amount of time.
