You don't need to buy anything. If you want it to work your TV I believe you need a Google Chrome cast. But for music and questions this is all you need.

For connection to light etc. you need smart home devices and most likely a smart hub. Since the devices usually operate not on wifi but rather on other cheaper radio frequencies. There are light bulbs operating also on wifi, but they are more expensive, since the wifi controllers are more expensive. So in your case I would add as many smart devices as possible to ease up the daily operation of all necessities. E.g. Smartthings from Samsung is a robust and open platform, i.e. supports many devices from different brands. Such you are not stuck with one brand and their pricing. Cheers Thomas

It can control the tv however you'll need to purchase "google cast" this plugs into the tv and turns it on it's about 39.99 depending on the model you purchase. If you purchase Phillips hue you can also turn on the lights, dim them and change the colors. It's replaced the amount of time I use to spend on my phone. If you're a nest owner I tell google to change the thermostat and she does! It's amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are looking to change things on the TV. You will need a Chromecast. To turn lights on or off you will need another connected system such as Phillips Hue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need other hardware to turn on the TV as home hasn't been around long enough for other manufacturers to integrate their API. As a stand alone product everything can be done via voice, such as answers to questions or listening to music.
