• Yes. You need to empty ac unit once in a while. I found it that it works better. It's supposed to let you know when it needs to be emptied but I did it b4 it told me to.

• Yes, there is a condensation tank; but I have been used it for a month now in CA and there is no need to empty any condensing water, and there is no leak yet. However the operating manual does indicates that there will be a warning if the water need to be emptied.

• If you ise the dehumidifier option, you need to empty the condensation tank. But not for just AC.

• If there is high humidity where you live you may end up with some water to empty. I bought this one because it is evaporating but it does have a plug and from what I read of the instructions high humidity could cause some water.

• Yes and no there is a pan that might need to be emptied if it is extremely humid I have not needed to empty it in the couple of months I have had the unit.
