“I purchased this two days ago. While it cools my room, it also increases the humidity. Is this expected?”

Hmm it shouldn't! Only had mine 1 month though. Make sure it's on AC mode & not fan mode. If humidity is worsening, maybe buy DampRid product for 8 bucks at Walmart. It helps freshen & pull extra moisture from air.
