Hi Matt, thank you for purchasing our Honeywell Portable Air Conditioner. The unit does not require any water to be filled. The water that drains out is the condensate (evaporated water). The built in dehumidifier removes excess moisture from the air which gets drained out. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The water does not drain out the window. The water is evaporated that's why there is no draining. I think you only need to drain it if you have it on dehumidifier. I have had my for about a month and have not had to drain it or any water build up. It works great. Barely even noticeable in 2nd story bedroom. Keeps room cold and you can feel the cold in the hallway.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit works without water. Just plug in and vent out the window. Ventilation is needed since it produces hot air that needs to be exhausted through the hose provided and out the window. Works great and cools the room.
