• It connects directly to the internet through your Wi-Fi. It doesn't talk to other smart things, but uses its own app.

• Works great for me! Also worked great with amazon echo. Just tell it what temp you want it! I purchased the amazon dot and loved it so much that I went back and bought two more for bedroom and bathroom.
