How do you set up the air conditioner null

The set up instruction manual that comes with the thermostat has instructions how to select heating, cooling, and what type of each. For example, single or 2 stage heat, single or 2 stage cooling, electric or gas heating. Select the code settings from the manual to use when you do the setup. I called the 800 number, but read the manual while waiting on hold and figured it out myself.
