No battery option is available as the unit gets it's power from the AC wires connected to the unit. I have tested a power outage and the unit returns to it's last setting once the power is restored.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This model doesn't require batteries, since it has to use the "C" wire this means it's receiving power from the AC/Heating Unit. I watched several YouTube videos on how to use or configure the "C" wire and luckily I had a spare wire not in-use and was able to connect to the "C" on both ends.
