There is an alternate method of wiring the thermostat without a common (C) wire. I have 3 thermostats without a C wire and I did the following. First you go to the air conditioning unit and move the G wire to the C terminal. Then you run a jumper wire from the G terminal to the Y Terminal. (Honeywell includes the jumper with the new thermostat). Then you go to the thermostat and move the G wire to the C terminal. That should make it work.
