I think you're using too much soap but I guess it depends on how much traffic you have and size of your rooms. I have minimal traffic and can do 3 rooms on 2 fills of the soap bottle on the machine. Carpets are visibly clean and smell great. The soap I use is Hoover Expert Pet.
