Twist the dirt cup handle counterclockwise to open and remove the lid. Pull the tab to remove the rinsable filter. Rinse with cold or warm water for two minutes or until water runs clear, then gently squeeze out any excess water. Allow 24 hours for the filter to dry completely. Once dry, replace the filter tab side out. It is important to allow your filter to fully dry after cleaning. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Detach the barrel where the dirt has accumulated. The blue top is detachable, and I think you have to twist it to open it up by aligning arrows. Once you get the top open -inside is the filter. and you can lift it out with the blue ribbon attached to the filter, and just wash it out. Be careful not to tear the blue ribbon off the filter, which is what I did by accident in the course of trying to figure the thing out. Anyway, once you pull the filter out of the lid, You can also replace it once the filter color cue turns from green to red to let you know it needs replacing due to being too dirty to function as a filter should.
