The vacuum weighs about 25 pounds, so that may be a bit too heavy to carry up and down a few flights of stairs. The bottom part of the vacuum does stay in place when you pick it up instead of flopping down, which does make it a bit easier to carry without worrying about knocking into anything.

Suzie, you sound female. Not judging just assuming by your name. This vacuum has awesome suction no doubt. Problem is the weight. It's gotta be over 20 lbs. I have a 2 story home. My wife will vacuum the floor that the vacuum is on and I gotta bring it up/down stairs and do the other level. If you're a trooper, get it! Or if you want a guy in the house to help out more, get it.
