A Chromebook is a computer designed mainly for Internet access, although you can do things like create documents and store pictures or games from the Google Play store on it.

Don't try to download much on this decive, be prepared to save everything to a external hard drive or your online google account storage. This would not be a laptop for a student at all. College students almost always need to run microsoft office natively on their computer; something chromeOS can not do.
