• Hi Arlene, thank you for the question. Yes, the HP 14c-cc0013dx Chromebook has a fan and a heat sink (a heat sink directs the heat flow away from the device). It could be that what you're experiencing is the heat being dispelled through the vent(s) and not that the laptop is running hot.
