It should run SPSS fine, it's not a fast processor but it should be enough. You should definitely add memory --add 8 GB for about $35. The memory upgrade is easy. Back comes off with 6 screws (4 are hidden under the thin rubber pads.) Since it comes with SSD, you may be able to go into virtual memory settings and configure a minimum of 8 gb of that disk to virtual memory. I'm not sure that will work well, you'd have to test it, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Probably you'll want to add ram though. Also, you'll almost certainly have to switch the machine out of S mode to install SPSS. That is easy to do during initial configuration or later.
