First of all, whether you can use WordPad to open any particular document is not dependent on the PC model or (generally) version of OS. WordPad will allow you to READ the text in a Word document, but will reflect little to none of the formatting (boldface, italic, different fonts or sizes, tabulation, etc.). Any changes you might make could only be saved in a program that is loaded, which would exclude Word (presumably you are asking this question because you do not have Word). Also, saving the document do so with its appearance as viewed (what you see is what you get), and all formatting stripped out. My suggestion is that, if you don't want to spend the money for Word ($7 for one month or $70/yr. for one PC), you download one of the free and compatible programs. there are a number of them, such as Apache OpenOffice Writer., LibreOffice Writer, or KingSoft,
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
