“Is there specific updates or setup that should be done upon purchase? Since I received the product it has run extremely slow and really haven’t been able to use it at all.”

Thats ok, its making update, when every finish its fast anda every thing its ok

There will almost always be system updates once a laptop is placed into service straight out of the box, but it should not affect the speed with which it operates.
