“You didn't answer the question of WHY the computer does not have a DVD drive. We often watch DVD movies on the computer. I do not wish to have to buy an external drive so we can watch DVDs.I like the large screen for movies but need a DVD drive.”

I asked the same question and was told that the cost of a DVD drive is so low that it is cheaper to purchase an external drive then to have it come with the laptop.

In a quest to achieve lighter, well-priced and sustainable products, and with the advent of streaming, DVD drives are being eliminated from laptops. It may be possible to create a custom build, but off-the-shelf, you'll find fewer laptops of any brand that include a DVD drive. You'll have better luck finding a DVD drive on a desktop or All-in-One computer, if you don't desire to use an external drive with a laptop.
