“Is there any issue with just replacing the Black ink cartridge in a Color printer? I don't believe I need the Color printing option but want to know if the Color cartridges need to be replaced in order to continue Black printing only?”

I don't believe so. You will receive warnings when the cartridge is getting low on toner, but I've found that I get a lot more use from the cartridge after the toner warnings begin.

As long as none of the color toners aren't completely empty, you can replace just the black toner. When you go to print a document, you can specify that you want it in black only.
