If the mouse stops working, you may need to change the battery in it. If the computer is turning off on its own, that is a warning sign of overheating. You can purchase canned air and spray it through the vents (Please do not use an air compressor!) to blow out any loose dust and keep the computer ventilated. HP has free tech support during its one-year warranty support and Best Buy also offers support through its Geek Squad. They can also look into the automatic shutdown issue.
