• The XL ink will give you anywhere from 200 to 300 more pages. It's about half a tank more.

• The HP 564XL Black ink cartridge contains approximately three times as much ink as the standard HP 564 ink cartridge.

• Thank you for your question regarding the 564 standard ink cartridges. The 564XL was the high yield version of the 564 giving you more pages per cartridge. A unit that could use the 564XL was capable of using the 564 standard.

• Correct, the XL always has extra ink reason why is also more expensive, but it is meant to be use for the same printer!
