Please try again later.Hope you got an answer by now, Barry, but if not, here's my answer: I also have an HPEnvy4500 printer that uses 61 black ink & I have been buying the 61XL black ink for longer use. It fits the same in the printer & works just as well. I asked one of the sales associates before I bought it just to make sure! I also have been using the 61XL color ink, which works great, too.
