• Received answer by HP but Best Buy does not have HP refurbish or sale refurbish laptops so this answer is vague and incorrect. This question should be answered by the refurbishing party.

• Thank you for the question. The fingerprint reader should be cleared during refurbishment so that you can set it when you set up the laptop.
