• It has to be turned on to print wirelessly. If u want to use it wirelessly from a distance without coming closer or without touching or, you should always have it turned on, that way u can always print with just one click on your cell/laptop, it will always be ready for it .

• I think it will have to be on in order for it to print . I can't think of a way to turn it on remotely except for an Alexa type service.

• Don't recall reading anything about this feature in the product manual (yes, I read manuals). So, my understanding is that you don't have the option to turn on the printer through the laptop...
