Are you required to sign up with the HP App program? null

I dont think you are required. Although, I signed up for just the basic and I like getting my ink when they detect it is getting too low. I dont change it right away, but that’s me.

HP Smart is not required to set up the printer as there are alternative methods available depending on what device you have. If you wish to claim the Instant Ink trial offer that is included, you will need the app to set up and manage the printer.
